intro
Strong second single from their fourth album, 'Baby 81', from the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
‘Berlin’ is the second single from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s recent fourth album, ‘Baby 81’. Written in Berlin, it is a stand out track on the album. It is very heavy on its rock ‘n’ roll. Thank the Lord. This is the real thing. You can smell the leather on this track. A song about sex, it is full of grit and one to dance to. It comes in both a CDS and red vinyl version. The B side of the CDS is ‘Vision’, which begins sounding very moody and atmospheric, until its gears move up a bit where with its heart set on reverb it shows a bit of meat in its beats. The B side of the vinyl is ‘20 hours’. A slow burner, it is not their best work and similar in style to an album filler by a non prolific John Lennon when he went out of fashion. It is moody but we deserve better from this great band. A pity really as the other two songs are perfect !
