intro
Dance-influenced second solo single from former Black Box Recorder singer, Sarah Nixey
This is the second solo single from the former Black Box Recorder vocalist. The first one, 'The Collector', came out in the Spring, and appears as the B side of the 7" version on this. 'Strangelove' features a seductive vocal from Sarah. It is more danceable than her work with Black Box Recorder and will have you moving your feet in no time whatsoever. It is electronica-based with a groove that would not out of place in 80's style discos or in the work of Depeche Mode. The extra tracks on 'Strangelove' are remixes of 'The Collector'. The first, 'Meets Comma', is reminsicent of Black Box Recorder, and is based around vocals and piano. On the second remix, 'Meets Infantjoy', the vocal is well and truly mucked about with, but too great effect. The piano on it sounds like it is being played in the far distance as if in another room. The third, 'Meets Pete Davies', is a house number and has big beats. Sarah's vocal doesn't join in till after the two minute mark, but a remix, it is pretty strong, keeping just enough of the original in. By the time it has reached the three minute mark ity has, however, entered dance Kylie remix territory.
