Latest offering from the ever popular Australian indiepop three piece, the Lucksmiths, which finds them moving at times towards a more "traditional country rock sound"
The Lucksmiths are a three piece Australian band who many people I know love. While the Lucksmiths were originally influenced by the mid 80's indie scene, this album has generally a much slower vibe to it and veers at times towards a traditional country rock sound. It is tweeish and is the sort of thing designed for Sunday morning gazing-out-of-the-window dreaming. Mostly it is slow and moody, but when it does speed it sounds like a countrified 'Driver 8' period REM. At 44 minutes in length, it is mostly enjoyable, but won't convert any new fans to the nest.
