'The Apples In Stereo' know how to wrap themselves around a catchy melody. On their new 7 song EP "Her Wallpaper Reverie", Robert Schneider and co.(John Hill, Hilarie Sidney, Eric Allen, and Chris McDuffie) write infectious pop songs that you can't help but sing along to. Recorded at Schneider's Pet Sounds studio in Denver, they take fellow E6ers Olivia Tremor Control's way of twisting pop melodies and soundscapes in order to relay their musical visions. While the song "Strawberryfire" has an obvious tip of the hat to 'The Quarrymen', it doesn't blatantly rip them off. Drummer Hilarie Sidney shows off her excellent songwriting abilities on "Questions and Answers", and just try to get the harmonies of "Ruby" out of your head. The Apples continue their tone soul revolution.
