intro
Lyrically rich glam rock from former Mott The Hoople singer Ian Hunter, the second in a proposed trilogy
Former Mott The Hoople singer Ian Hunter is now two albums into a proposed trilogy - rather like Beyonce. But unlike her, Ian Hunter is not committing himself to any genre-hopping! Like its 2023 predecessor, the second part of his trilogy, ‘Fiction’ features an all-star cast and keeps to a lyrically rich brand of glam-style rock'n'roll. Now almost 85, Hunter still sports his trademark oversized rock style shades and he is joined by Queen's Brian May and the late Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters on ‘Precious’ where Hunter's fine piano work is reminiscent of Mott The Hoople's ‘All The Way From Memphis’. American singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams (now 71) deploys her Louisiana rasp on ‘What Would I Do Without You’ - which is another fine track on a high quality album!
