intro
Over-long, but gripping post-electronica on triple vinyl only LP from Copenhagen-based musician, Rumpistol
'Away' features lounging Dane-step from Copenhagen-based post electronica recording artist Rumpistol. All breezing and oozing, it combines freewheeling and downbeat electronica with lazy and sober Scandinavian compositions. Rumpistol must have at long last underestimated the length of an album . I found 'Away' too much a consument of my time, though I not regret not having listened to it over and over. Several tracks require extra listens, like the infectuous 'Asleep'. Followed on by 'Awake' you may feel that you are being trapped - all tracks begin with the letter 'A'. Splashing digits on 'Amar' initially bring suspense, but sounds then drift away. Meticulously surfacing again on 'A Fall' which features MØ, the beats melt together like a confluence. While it goes wah-wah on 'Adrift', the album then ends tranquilly with 'Atacama', which featuring American singer-songwriter and composer John LaMonica, rounds off this lovely shuffle.
