Marie Hazelwood photographs the Hummingbirds at the launch show for this year's Liverpool Music Awards

The Liverpool Music Awards is an annual music awards which “honours the heroes of the music industry in” Liverpool, “not only local musicians, but also those behind the scene, who facilitate and inspire others to create and perform on Merseyside.” The Awards this year has sixteen categories, including Female Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Band of the Year, Live Music Venue of the Year, Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award. Nominations can be submitted online at www.liverpoolmusicawards.com. Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony, which will take place on August 25th, the August Bank Holiday Sunday, at St George’s Hall in Liverpool. The Liverpool Music Awards for this year were launched at a launch party on the 20th April at Liverpool Town Hall, and was attended DJ and broadcaster, Janice Long, who is also one of the judges. These photographs of local act the Hummingbirds were taken by Marie Hazelwood, and who have been nominated in the category of Ones to Watch, at the launch party.
