intro
Unpretentious combination of doo wop, 60's pop music, surf rock and garage punk on second album from acclaimed Toronto-based band, Hooded Fang
'Tosta Mista' set the alarm last year already when it was released in, of all places, Canada. Fret not, it's not the Boards of Canada and neither a subsidiary money funded item. 'Tosta Mista' is, without further ado, simply rock and roll. Hell-raising twang that is combined with echoes from 1960's garages nd sing-along tunes all makes for a grand party. Hooded Fang embrace - on 'Brahma' - doowop, 60's pop music, surf rock and garage punk - on for example 'Jubb'. And Hooded Fang nails it; on 'Clap' they sing that you're deranged. A disposition that ultimately stimulate you to twist your hips.. Absolutely great tunes aplenty, and all graced with bent twists, the ten tracks on 'Tosta Mista' range from the la-la-la-lines of the 'Brahma' to the ballroom echo kitsch of 'Den of Love'. Whizzing off like Spizz Energi tried to, 2 or 3 decades ago. 'Tosta Mista' makes a lovely dish; strumming rock'n roll from twisted beats.
