Excellent four track EP compilation from the Studio Rockers label which provides a showcase for four of the best new acts on the current dub scene

Right after the mighty Mark1 and Jazzsteppa singles on Studio Rockers, the label started a new series. The first instalment of 'Re-Wired' showcases four fresh new faces on the scene. Pempi was given the honour of going first with her splashing 'Fire'. Dodge Vyrus is next with a smooth but fiery dubstepper. There is plenty of intrigue on the flip with one Albert bringing a clubby house element into dubstep; the genuine surprise, however, comes from NuPhlo wwhose bhangra antics dish up a fresh flavour over a stiflingly atmopsheric floor ripper. This EP is a great move from lengthy compilation trouble onto a summary of today's top of the crop. The Pempi track is one that will ring around your head for days. Pempi might be Benga and, even if not, deserves an equal amount of attention.
