In the latest in his 'Evidently Spencertown' poetry column, Spencer Robertshaw writes of the after effects of an evening in the pub in 'Pissed'

Wake up in the morning Dog shit in the mouth The truth is slowly dawning Your manners went all south Started as a snifter Just to calm the day Now your brain is in a twister Who took your clothes away? They looked nice in the boozer A few drinks faded their edges Now you're next to a battle cruiser Smoking Benson and Hedges The panic sets in now How can you do a runner? More of a bull than a cow A battleship complete with gunner Why do we drink too much? When only one was the plan Then we end up next to ‘Butch’ Not sure if it’s a woman or a man Why do we have a drink? It only causes trouble Mind is fuzzed, can't think And she looks like Barney Rubble!
