intro
Infectious debut single with classic rock sound from young Welsh indie rockers, We are Animal
Here is yet another great record on the Too Pure label. This time the singles club introduces us to North Wales’ newest indie rockers We are Animal. this takes the best parts of the young Kings of Leon and mixes it up a dash of the more experimental Liars. Whilst the B side ‘Way Out West’ sounds just like that, a B side, the main attraction ‘1268’ is a full on rock beast. As much as they would hate me for saying it there is a classic rock sound here that wouldn’t be out of place on the new Wolfmother album. That’s nothing to be ashamed of though. It shows remarkable maturity for a band to be this solid on their debut single. The distorted riff is ridiculously infectious and whilst the “In all its glory” mantra of the chorus is understated and perhaps a tad overused there is no mistaking the euphoric lift when that riff bursts back into the song. This release is limited to 500 copies so if you want it then get in quick. We are Animal are on the rise.
