Label: Edition 59 Records

intro

Fine indie pop on new EP from St Christopher, who were at one point signed to Sarah Records

St Christopher were formed in York, England in 1984. Glenn Melia is the only remaining member that has been in all line ups of the band. They are most notably known as a group that were on Sarah Records. 'If Black Was Blue' opens this 3 track EP. It has a big and dancey indie pop sound and is very much a 1980's number, but in a good way. 'The Thrill of the New' is a live track, which sounds as crisp as my beloved One Thousand Violins with its soul searching vocal and a jangly backbeat that recalls Johnny Marr at his best with the Smiths. 'I Can't Forget You'(Mirrorball Mix)' is again dancey, sounding like a 1980s Merseybeat number. This is a decent indie pop with a good vibe.

Track Listing:-
1 If Black Was Blue
2 The Thrill Of The New (Live)
3 I Can't Forget You (Mirrorball Mix)
