intro

Excellent combination of indie pop and psychedelia, which features five artists, on new compilation EP from German label Edition 59 Records

'Heart and Soul' is an excellent compilation EP from Edition 59 Records which features five artists. Phil Wilson, who is back on the music scene as both a solo act and with his original band the June Brides, opens the EP which consists of all new tracks, with a banjo re-working of Talking Heads 'Psycho Killer'. It is great and even better then the original. Coventry-based band the Pristine provide lush and psychedelic of the 1965-66 variety with the wonderful 'Doesn't Even Matter', while Australian group the Molifs' 'Words' is very twee and reminiscent of early Sarah records. Ohio act Asleep's 'Waiter in New York' recalls Trembling Blue Stars with its lushness and elegance and My Laundry Life's 'The Town Song' has a cinematic Western feel.

Track Listing:-

2 The Pristines- Doesn't Even Matter
3 The Motifs- Words
