intro
Impressive debut album from Devil's Gift who combine their loud metal sound with effective both male and female vocals
Reminiscent of Evanesence at their height, Devil's Gift stand out from the masses by their significant use of dual male and female vocals which act as a unique counter-point. Devil's Gift, however, avoid any such negative comparison with Evanessence through being singly louder and more intense; and it cannot be denied being for the better. With a torrent of drumming seared through with screeching vocals, this is a band that you could not help but take notice of. While none of the tracks are particularly memorable, nor are any particularly bad. Although this may seem as if Devil's Gift come across as being somewhat stale and average, this is not quite true. Instead, the tracks on this debut album are all of above average quality and never drop into mediocrity or stagnancy. If I had to offer any particular recommendations, it would have to be the concluding tracks of ‘One on One’ and ‘Game Show Winner’. Overall, this is an impressive album indeed.
