intro
Captivating new vinyl single from Tindersticks which while unlikely to win them any new fans further still consolidates their reputation
John Peel’s maxim about the Fall about being always different, always the same could just as well apply to Stuart Staples band of miserablist minstrels. You always know where you are with the band – no matter who’s in the line-up. Any new release from the band almost comes with a guarantee. There’s Staples mournful, morose lyrics of lost or doomed love and failure accompanied by accomplished playing. The listener knows what to expect and the band only rarely fail to deliver. That’s not to say the band is predictable and always manage to pull a few new tricks on an old theme. This latest single, taken from the band’s latest album 'The Hungry Saw', once again sees the band tread ground and themes but still manage to captivate. 'Boobar Come Back to Me' is unlikely to win over any new converts but will consolidate the band's reputation.
