Television Personalities - The Good Anarchist
Label: Elefant Records
Format: 7"

intro

Lo-fi vinyl only new single from the legendary Television Personalities

‘The Good Anarchist’, which is only available on seven inch vinyl, is the first release of 2008 for the legendary Television Personalities and follows on after an absence of eight years of two albums within a two year period. ‘The Good Anarchist’ is fairly twee, featuring lo-fi guitar reminiscent of the Velvet Underground and a vocal from new Swedish member, Johanna Lunastrom. Its B side, ‘She's Always Been There For Me’ is piano based with a hint of Northern Soul, and is sung by front man Dan Treacey. He’s no singer. That's for sure, but he has the guts to get up and do it anyway. This is the stuff that launched a 1,000 new wave bands. Good on you, my son.

A Memory is Better Than Nothing (2010)
Staggeringly good latest album from the Television Personalities, which despite the band and front man Dan Treacy's long history of bad luck, proves surprisingly optimistic and also possibly the group's best album to date
