Fantastic giveaway new one track single from Northampton-based guitar band the Departure
The Departure are one of the best groups I have ever witnessed, now or twenty years ago. This one track single, which they are currently giving away at gigs and as a free download, is their first new material since 'Arms Around Me' back in 2005. This is the only band of the new century that are English and that I have truly embraced because they have all the looks, the tunes, the passion and the energy that you should have if you are in a group. '7 Years' is a song about now, about living in a false world 7 years into the century and about isolation, but also about moving forward. This song has big ideas with riffs as big as mountains. A true rock n roll masterclass is delivered when you watch this band. They sweat cool and they don't have dodgy haircuts either. A truly great band. Embrace them now as they tour the whole country over the next 5 weeks or so. Their new album out in jan 2008.
