intro
Summery 1960's influenced rock 'n' roll on likeable debut album from the Isle of Wight's most recent export, the Jackson Analogue
Jackson Analogue have inspired comparisons as earth shattering as the Kings of Leon which personally I feel is just poor journalism. While the Kings may well be back to the roots, Jackson Analogue are reminiscent of the pure and simple rock ‘n’ roll of the 1960's, right down to the skilful Hammond Organ playing. The Isle of Wight seems to breed this kind of a band, which isn’t surprising considering it’s an island steeped in musical history. The Bees, the most successful recent export, have had a lot of well deserved acclaim and now with the Jackson Analogue the south of England has it’s very own sound. Content wise it’s more dynamic than you might expect from the recent singles 'Stop' and 'Come On', tracks such as Janis twists from a heavy R 'n' B beat into a clever harmonic break, this kind of variation gives the album a great boost especially when a few moments later you are greeted with a beautifully crafted acoustic summer love song. Jackson Analogue deserve much more respect than just another Kings of Leon rip-off, this album shows a long lost simplicity. Forge the floods and hope this sunshine stays around as this is the perfect soundtrack for it.
