intro
Enjoyable Sarah Records-inspired indie pop from White Town, who had a surprise no. 1 hit in the mid 90's
Back in the early 1990’s I came across White Town and bought most of their singles; ‘White Town’, ‘Darley Abbey’ and the brilliant and brilliantly titled ‘Alan Delon’ to name but three. I kind of lost interest after the bizarre Number 1 single sensation of ‘Your Woman’ and thought that Jyoti (the man behind White Town) had just lost interest too. It was indeed a (new) surprise that White Town have resurfaced and delivered yet another fine vinyl EP of jolly ‘Sarah Recordsesque’ ditties that sound like nothing has changed in the decade they’ve been away. In simple terms, if you were a fan of the White Town of old, you’ll love this EP and if you weren’t then you should have been. For those of you who only ever heard ‘Your Woman’, don’t be put off as this is far more straight forward easy going pop music. Enjoy.
