intro
Catchy, but all too brief debut single from their 'Talk of the Town' alnum for Sunderland trio Field Music
"What’s the use of going home again when it’s always the same?" Well if this poppy delight was playing on the stereo that would be reason enough for me. The song is a veritable gathering of familiar Field Music elements. Falsettos, driving piano melody, strings taking care of the counterpoint, and of course those thin, angular guitars. The song is a straight ahead jaunty pop treat takes 2 parts Badly Drawn Boy, 1 part rock and roll, and comes out sounding like the delightful first single off of 'Tones of Town'. The b-side ‘Logic,’ is a catchy little nugget propelled by a lazy acoustic guitar and some more of Peter and David Brewis’ sweet falsettos and multilayered harmonies. The song would have worked well on the album, but now I guess you’re just going to have to pick up the single. Be warned though, the 2 song single clocks in under 5 minutes.
