Country-influenced latest single from much hyped new Liverpool band, the Basement

'I Just Caught A Face', the first single from the Basement's debut album 'Illicit Hugs and Playground Things' is pure country rock. For a Liverpool band such as the Basement this is really easy listening. Live they do, however, like to rock out as a recent gig at the London Barfly revealed. 'Close the Door', the first of the B sides, is similar in tone, but with a laid back drinking Pogues style to it. 'Say Goodbye Tonight, the second B side, is slowcore country with a twang.
