'Delicious" and happy-with-the-world new single from Kansas-based Americana duo, the Belles
Delicious, delicious, DELICIOUS! I liked the Belles' last single, 'Never Said Anything' and this one I think actually surpasses the level of beauty and songmanship held in that previous release. The A side 'Omerta' , a Mafia term meaning code of silence, is the title track off their new album, and is one of those relaxed distinctly American (but in the good Americana way!) happy-with the-world, strolling-through-the-park-in-the-spring-with-your headphones-on, smiling-at-the-world songs. It has a lovely Hammond organ underneath the core drums and acoustic guitar base, which adds a beautiful atmospheric aspect to the track and raises it to a whole new level. The B side, 'A Thousand Ships', is definitely weaker and at some points the vocals are actually out of tune, but it somehow still manages to work. One problem though! I can’t find their album anywhere. Anyone know where I can get a copy?!
