intro
Confusing and bafflinhg new album from avant-garde musician and experimentalist, Lutz Glandien
Music to choreography may prove difficult to be listened to with an open mind but Lutz Glandien, however, is usually quite articulate as an avant-garde musician and does grab you with his true stories. His pish posh narrative with broken beats in the background shows a certain distance. Currently the RER roster includes a huge amount of experimental music performed with the aid of computers. Yet far from detrimental, these computer reproduced frequencies and resonances sound as if they are coming from instruments just the same. Chris Cutler's RER label has developed over the years to become a stronghold for experimentation and 'Lost In Rooms' equally displays two aspects. Firstly its format never determines a style, as Lutz Glandien toils about and tries to break new ground. Secondly 'Lost In Rooms' re-directs to a starting point., and. when beats collide with soundscapes as compositions progress, confusion hits upon the listener. 'Lost In Rooms' establishes itself as a genuine misconception in music. It's an album; it's a collection of tracks; it hasn't got any tunes and to label it even less attractive, 'Lost In Rooms' leaves an open mind at the close.
