intro
Laid back single from rising Kansas duo, the Belles, which proves to be the perfect lazy Sunday afternoon for a hangover
What can I say ? The title song is that kind of funky soulful acoustic tune-age that seems to end teen movies once the guy gets the girl he’s been after for the whole film and they are driving off into the sunset! It's really rather good, if a little over done! I have to say the tubular bell middle 8 section is wicked and the lyrics are delivered with that special breathy quality that makes you want to move to California, find a girl and settle down. It’s lovely. The other two tracks on the CD are taken up by a remix of the title track which takes a definite Massive Attack, Leftfield twist and a cover of the Evan Dando song 'My Drug Buddy'. I have to admit I have never heard the original but this version is amazing. It's got a great chillout groove and some truly inspired Hammond organ playing. This CD is ideal for a lazy Sunday afternoon enjoying the sunshine and trying to remember what the hell happened the night before!
