Excellent new electronica on split 7" EP from Static Caravan label, introducing two new acts, Hardsleeper and Maps and Diagrams

The s**it hit the van. Static Caravan Dot Com almost unnoticedly changed to dot org and the label has kept a low profile recently in spite of a string of excellent seven inch singles. One of these is a split introducing Maps And Diagrams and Hardsleeper. The latter living up to his name has a stretched lullaby on offer. Maps And Diagrams have two tracks that work like opposong attractions. 'I Never Said That' builds on pulsations from keyboard chords and features a wonderful flow of jazzy microhouse. 'Abseil' may have conflicting loops and breaks but in the end is more conservative track on offer from Maps And Diagrams. Hardsleeper uses the same method with piano, adding a fine touch of grace.
