intro
Heavy, but rewarding and decidely scary "cycle of... virtual electric songs that combine electronic aggression with Gothic and Industrial elements" from German composer Lutz Glandien
Berlin based composer Lutz Glandien is a contemporary classical composer. He has written many works for chamber groups and symphony orchestras as well as soundtracks for film and television. Made from rejected studio improvisations by Michael Vogt (Berlin Symphony Orchestra) and Chris Cutler (Pere Ubu, Henry Cow, Cassiber), Glandien isolated the great moments from each which he has used as building blocks for this album. Over a period of 3 years, a cycle of 12 virtual electric songs that combine electronic aggression with Gothic and Industrial elements were born. In 'The 5th Elephant', there is a fusion of musical styles ranging from underground techno to contemporary classical music, creating soundscapes you would find in science fiction horror films. The backward voices, a concrete sound and hypnotic progressions all contribute to this terrifying experience and are sure to put you on edge. This requires a lot of patience and is sure to appeal to the hardcore fan. This album takes you to a different world and invites your imagination to run wild. A reminder of how powerful music can be. Nine Inch Nails meets Boulez.
