Agnostic Front’s new album, ‘Dead Yuppies’, is the finest release of old-school style punk this year. With their fast-paced guitars, Agnostic Front relive the sounds of old, and also include in their music much sought after intermittent guitar solos, however in slightly short supply. The band, born in New York, has justified its existence with nine previous albums and now add a tenth to their nearly twenty year existence. ‘Dead Yuppies’ continues in the same vein that has made Agnostic Front one of the best punk rock bands of the last two decades. The New Yorkers have an unmatched quality of expression with a relevancy that many bands fail to adorn. Matching this expressiveness with a sound congruous to what they stand for, the band have a refreshing stance on both modern society’s woes, and also every day problems. In general, the album delivers all that is needed in punk and hardcore, and has cutting vocals and a sound that would delight any follower. It has certainly converted me. Although not one of the more well known bands, Agnostic Front have a get-up-and-go attitude that comes across in their music. They may not have conquered music as a whole but are making a continued stand in the area they are recognised in, this making the band, and this album, a creation of pure genius.
