intro
Fabulous collection of remixes for classically-influenced Brighton-based harmonic female folk duo, Lutine
In 1793 Lutine was the name of a treasure ship that was shipwrecked on the coast of Friesland, with goods reportedly worth a million. In 2016 Lutine astounds the world with 'choir-tronica'. Divine romance and angelic magic aptly describe Lutine's marvellous music. ‘Died of Love’ features remixes of tracks from their 2014 record 'White Flowers', making it a better best of album. Imagine Laurie Anderson went dubstep but the bass dropped out. Add a twist by mixing in some vague 4AD crap and hear Lutine's superior blending. Heavenly orchestral manoeuvres that sound like they have come from the church combine with plenty of storming electronica action to create a splashing sonic cascade. The Pete Wiggs mix of 'So It Goes' finds the finest balance. The Shape Worship remix of 'Synnove' has a majestic grace, and further proof of the excellence of 'Died of Love' comes with a playful version of 'Gamelan' towards the close.
