intro
Appetising first vinyl and download only single from ever impressive the National's fifth album, 'High Violet'
The National have been knocking about for over 10 years, but it is only since the release of their last LP, 'Boxer', that they have started to reap the rich rewards that their impressive back-catalogue deserves. New single, 'Bloodbuzz Ohio', is the forerunner for LP number five, 'High Violet', which is due to drop very soon on 4AD, and is a brooding slow burner that gets better with every spin. Matt Berninger’s rich vocal perfectly compliments the beautiful music that his band-mates create and is easily on a par with their stunning early track 'About Today', which is the usual live set-closer. If the album is half a good as this single it will be a serious contender for album of the year.
