intro
Uncomplicated new single from Bristol indie rockers New Rhodes, the first from their excellent second album, 'Everybody Loves a Scene'
New Rhodes had disappeared for a while, but have returned with a great new LP, 'Everybody Loves a Scene', and this is the first single to be lifted from it. It’s a straightforward pop love song very much in the style of previous singles such as 'I Wish I Was You' and the chart bothering 'You’ve Given Me Something That I Can’t Give Back' and clocks in at just over 3 minutes. There is quality in the b-sides too, with the slower 'Primrose Hill' and the ace 'Nowhere Fast', which despite not being a cover of the Smiths song of the same name, could easily have been a song the Smiths would be happy to call their own. It’s time these Bristol chancers made some waves. Hopefully this could be their year.
