intro
Promising debut single from former Delgados front woman, Emma Pollock, who has an album out later in the year
'Adrenaline' is the debut solo single by the former female lead singer with Scotland's the Delgados. I always wanted to hear more of Emma Pollock in the Delgados and I was disappointed by their final album, ‘Hate’, but this is much better, ‘Adrenaline’ shows us there is better stuff in there still to come from her forthcoming album which is due out in September. It sounds like a cross between a 70’s Elton John piano ballad and a rocker from the Throwing Muses at their least screwed up. Its B side, ‘Glorious’, is a co write with a poet from Brighton, Brendan Cleary. It is an acoustic delivered number in the style of Sandy Denny or Nick Drake, and, stripped down to the minimum, is as lush as a summer's day.
