intro
Fragile neo folk on debut offering from Sefa, the moiniker for singer-songwriter Serafine Steer, which has come out on the always reliable Static Caravan label
Like it or not but Sefa, a.k.a. Serafine Steer found her home on the Static Caravan label by way of MySpace. Apparently the always reliable Static Caravan also resides on MySpace, which I just don't want to know. Even so, Sefa managed to reach the label and the first fruits from their respective loins appear on her debut single, the dark but beautiful 'Peach Heart'. Drenched in scratching noise, recorded from vinyl, Serafine's vocals rise to the occasion. If fragility could ever affect listeners whatever their mood , Sefa does so here. Wandering about in the fields of neo-folk and urban wisdom, 'Peach Heart' is little jewel.I'm don't feel shy about mentioning Fairport Convention here.
