intro
Imaginative second single from up-and-coming Newcastle indie guitar band, Pale Man Made
Pale Man Made are a four piece band from Newcastle, consisting of Leon on vocals & guitar, Christianne on vocals, guitar & bass, Stuart on guitar and bass and Claire on drums. 'Show of Hands' is only their second single, but it's pretty good. The music is guitar led indie-rock. The title track, utilises male & female harmonies with driving rhythm and loud guitar between verses. 'Winning Streak', the second track, starts with a spoken word quote before sparse guitar begins over the drums and bass. The vocals on this remind me a bit of the Violent Femmes, which is no bad thing in my opinion. The final track on the EP is 'Annual Ritual'. The drumming on this sounded like a military band starting up and this was used during the track, but not to its detriment. Pale Man Made sound a bit different from many of the indie style bands around at the moment, thanks to imaginative use of their instruments and vocals and it would be good to see more of them in the future.
