intro
Zena Grieg profiles this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals which will take place between the 23rd and 25th August.
With hundreds of acts performing, the Reading & Leeds Festivals will again be one of the unmissable music weekends of the summer. They celebrate and define modern ground-breaking music, as well as hosting a world-class comedy line-up, with live podcasts and a whole load of late night partying and fun. Headlining the events will be The 1975, Post Malone, Twenty One Pilots and Foo Fighters. One of the most promising talents on the recent UK rap scene, Dave - the youngest ever winner of an Ivor Novello award – will entertain festival-goers with tracks from his highly anticipated debut album ‘Psychodrama’. Already Dave has amassed over 600 million streams! American platinum-selling producer & DJ Dillon Francis will also feature, bringing his mix of uplifting melodies and potent dance floor rhythms. And US Indie pop songstress Mikaela Straus – aka King Princess will appear as will Compton's Roddy Rich whose hybrid trap has seen the MC become a rising star...a major draw for the festival crowds! Amongst many more performing at the joint events this year are AE MAK and TrueMendous, part of Festival Republic and PRS Foundation's ReBalance programme – a pioneering scheme launched in 2017 offering support, studio time and festival slots. Reading & Leeds promises be one of the UK's most popular music events – as it usually is!
