intro
Impressively presented limited edition vinyl only single which features the best known tracks from Alfred Hitchcock's film 'Psycho'
This beautifully packaged single features the two best known tracks on Bernard Herrmann's score for 'Psycho', and is limited to just 1960 copies on 7" vinyl to commemorate the year that film came out. 'Prelude' is the legendary main theme to what is Alfred Hitchcock's masterclass of terror, which, released in stunning black and white, has for nearly sixty years scared the skin off its audience of any generation. The theme is heavy on strings and, even so early on in the film, it gives the cloak of fear whether you are listening to this limited edition vinyl or watching it on the big screen or TV. 'The Murder' is the film's stand out scene in which Marion Crane played by Janet Leigh is murdered in the shower, but the music that assists is quite short. Again strings are the main instrument, and again it's the music that makes this movie as timeless as it has been since its release back in 1960.
