intro
Eclectic limited edition new EP from extraordinary Watford-based dub/rock five-piece, DEF Digby
Straight from the depths of this year’s Deerstock comes DEF Digby, a dub/rock five-piece, formed in Watford around 2012. They come largely influenced by the timeless sounds of reggae and the ever moving and shifting sound of general rock, and profess to play both traditional and modern material. I would say they do it quite well, fusing psychedelic soundscapes with dub and three-part layered vocal harmonies. Whilst growing and adapting to their surroundings, the guys have graced the stages of Strummercamp, the infamous 100 Club, and various clubs and venues all over the country and what makes them so enjoyable to listen to is that they have their musical influential fingers in many other musical pies. Not just loving the reggae/ska, they all have differing backgrounds and each has their unique input in what is a vast broad spectrum of sounds and beats. Made specifically for the Deerstock weekend this little EP is also available on CD and download post festival due to its fantastic crowd response. If you are looking for something different, then this will be a good addition to your record collection. Stunning!
