intro
Our Website of the Month is the personal website and blogspot of Pennyblackmusic writer, Tom Fogarty
http://tomfogarty.com is the website and blogspot of Pennyblackmusic’s very own Tom Fogarty. In his writing for Pennyblack, Tom, who is London-based, has proved to be of eclectic tastes. He has reviewed favourably both (in what has become an annual pilrgrimage) late 80’s/early 90’s crooner Curtis Stigers at Ronnie Scott’s, and at the other end of the spectrum in a local pub a debauched set from hedonistic art punks Sheep On Drugs. Tom brings a similar breadth of thought and imagination to his own website. As well as more articles on music, there are also pieces on film (“I love films – 80’s video nasties, Hammer horror, spaghetti westerns – all sorts. David Lynch, Russ Meyer, John Waters.”); books (“I read a lot. Anything from Nietzsche to Hunter S. Thompson, via Tom Sharpe and William Burroughs”), and his current obsessions which include going down the pub and tattoos, of which Tom has rather a lot. There are photos of things that have grabbed Tom’s interest. In his blog in recent months, Tom has written about prisons: homemade tattoos: growing a handlebar moustache for Movember; looking for comedian Max Wall’s grave in Highgate Cemetery, and he has also provided a rather far-fetched account of his claims to being famous. http://tomfogarty.com is both spiky in tone but warm-natured, and as entertaining as it is also often very funny..
