The Dublin-based rock band the Coronas are currently the biggest-selling independent act in Ireland. The group, which formed in 2003, consists of Danny O'Reilly (vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards); Dave McPhillips (lead guitar), Graham Knox (bass guitar) and Conor Egan (drums, percussion). They released their debut album, ‘Heroes or Ghosts’, in 2007, and followed this with their second album, 2009's ‘Tony is an Ex-Con’, which won a prize for best pop album at Irish music awards the Meteor Music Awards in 2010. The group released their third album, ‘Closer to You’, in November of last year, which went to number one in the Irish Indie Chart. They now hope to have similar success in Britain as they have done at home, and these photographs of them were taken during a headlining British tour at a show at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on the 2nd May.
