ZTT always had a knack of taking a piece of music and allowing it to be remixed and extended into a musical odyssey. The Art of Noise, 808 State, Paul McCartney, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Scritti Politti and many more acts have their tracks taken, treated with love and care and then extended with extreme mastery on this second compilation of remixes from the influentital 80's label. You have tracks from four minutes to over thirteen and each fits within itself perfectly. I used to DJ in clubs when dance music was in its Summer of Love. This stuff is a lifesaving infusion when a DJ hits his sweet spot and has to decide which way to take the crowd. At such times these 12 inch remixes are exactly what’s needed. This double is great for the car on a long journey or a party in which it would cause, depending on who they are, some serious damage to someone's sneakers or Jimmy Choos. When I was in town the other day, I saw two people pick this album up at HMV and head for the cash desk. I was in the shop for five minutes. Do I need to say more? It has been twenty odd years since the majority of these tracks first came out, and they continue to have a real freshness and power.
