intro
Genuine-sounding and zany punk on second album from Califonian rockers Triclops!
There is no harm in taking singing lessons from Jello Biafra. It actually comes in handy as Triclops! play agitpunk. First though, this album will put a smile on your face. Take the CD from the package and you'll see a mirrored lazy cat shaping a circle. Using a symphonic metal formula on the grand overture 'Glaciers', Triclops! also flirt with the blues. The restless rants of singer John Geek are given appropriate arrangements. Yeah, this is pretty strong. Then again, the US seems such an absurd society. Compared to mainstream albums, 'Helpers on the Other Side' is produced to be listened to at home, rather than in a car. Mainstream music is arranged to surpress for example the rumble that driving a car brings forth. For this, people will think Triclops! sound odd, but this is genuine music! The album will disturb the chauffeur anyhow. It's epic mayhem that is very worth checking out. There are a lot of surprises in this. I'd spoil it should I give them away. It is recommended if you felt that Blur and Pavement were too bourgeois. What they have in common is very little but the little they do share is great! Loud and zany.
