Excellent set of remixes on twelve inch vinyl EP of London-based techno artist DJ Deekline's chart hit, 'I Don't Smoke'.

A chart biggie from yesteryear undergoes five new reefer treatments on a re-issue on the Rat Records label. The Utah Saints remix possibly is the catchiest out of the bag but above all this release proves that 'I Don't Smoke' withstood the test of time. The original can now be seen as seminal to the progress which lead to dubstep. Breakbeat wizards Krafty Kuts update 'I Don't Smoke' in a sense that sticks close to the original; beefing up the beats and breaking down the barriers. Deekline asked for assistance from Tim Healey on one mix and from Ed Solo on another one. On their remix Deekline and Ed Solo team up against System Remix. Tim Healey has gone for a carnival-esque house touch but with a much more contemporary, sound contemporary being old speak for 'cutting edge'. Old-skool junglist breaks molten with dubstep rhythms and bring forths the best of two worlds. The pounding drums on the Crissy Criss remix emphasize the deep 'I Don't Smoke' groove. Clashing, cashing and crashing in on the System Remix, Deekline and Ed Solo round up very neatly what the smoke ban initially was all about.
