intro
Atmospheric dance anthem on multi-mixed latest EP from Blur ad Madonna producer, William Orbit
William Orbit is a quality artist. He has worked with Madonna, Blur and the Sugababes to name but a few. The 'Purdy' EP is the album version/radio edit and four other mixes of the said same track from the album ‘My Oracle Lives Uptown’. Is it good ? – Yes! Who does the remixes ? – Chicane, Greenmoney, Billy Buttons, Henner and Green. The original ‘Purdy’ is a richly layered atmospheric track leading strongly into a chilled breakdown with dreamy imagery. The track then comes back together with a great build up. MP3 players and clubs will have heads smiling and nodding in appreciation of William Orbit's fine craftsmanship here. Greenmoney and Henner and Green's remixes have a progressive feel with crafty acid undertones which could easily be from the desk of Morales or Van Heldon. There’s a skippy synth-stabbed lead in the Greenmoney mix and Henner and Green’s mix echoes of Donna Summers ‘I Feel Love’ on steroids. Billy Buttons comes in with a stayer which has more than a passing resemblance of Felix’s ‘Don’t You Want Me?’ This should drive dance floors strongly as its distant relative did many years ago. A great EP with enough quality in both musical creation and production to keep it pumping for a good few head-nodding ,dance-floor stomping days to come.
