intro
Our Website of the Month is PopMatters, a cultural site which is based in Chicago
Our Website of the Month ‘PopMatters’ www.popmatters.com was first established in 1999 and, while Chicago-based, is a cultural site with an international focus. In its own words, “our scope is broadly cast on all things pop culture, and our content is updated daily, Monday through Friday. We provide intelligent reviews, engaging interviews, and in-depth essays on most cultural products and expressions in areas such as music, television, films, books, video games, sports, theatre, the visual arts, travel, and the Internet.” For music fans, there are interviews, features; reviews of albums, singles, DVDs and gigs ; blogs and international listings for tours and concerts. Pennyblackmusic writer Lisa Torem is also a contributor to ‘PopMatters’. With all its back articles archived, ‘PopMatters’ is an excellent resource of information for both music fans and those interested in other aspects of culture.
