intro

Catchy and summery indiepop, ideal for the festival circuit, from Kent-based band, the Eskimo Project

With one of this year's many highly touted “summer singles”, the Eskimo Project have set about stamping their own brand of light hearted indie pop on the world. ‘Hydrogen Bomb’ is the perfect record for this. It is sweeping and dreamy and is a song that definitely has an air of summer to it. The band have a real classic British indie sound to them. It reminds me very much of the mid 90’s offerings of bands such as Reef and Terrovision, although it has been done in a very contemporary way. It could also be compared to modern bands such as Athlete or Elbow for, but this song has that air of having been around for a while. You feel like you’ve heard it before and it stays with you. It is very appropriate with the festival season which seems to be very quickly coming around again. This could be a great way for the band to break into the limelight, as this is exactly the sort of summer anthem you are liable to hear a lot of during the summer months.
