intro
Chaotic, but likeable set of covers of bands such as the Faces, Electric Eeels and the Beach Boys from Connecticut punks, Condo Fucks
Connecticut mentalists Condo Fucks have interpreted some of their favourite tunes on their latest release ‘Fuckbook’and covered the likes of the Faces, Electric Eels and the Beach Boys. The songs are full of energy, but also grimy and dirty at the same time. Independent-minded to their core the band sound like they are having great fun. The guitar playing on ‘Come On Up’ and ‘The Boy with the Replaceable Head’ veers into the chaotic and out of control, but this is rescued by the sheer underground appeal the band have. With all three members contributing on vocals the songs have Ramones style harmonies and maintain a tuneful edge. Condo Fucks, comprising of Condo on drums, Kid Condo guitar and James McNew on bass guitar, are one of the few bands that are really trying to keep things underground. With no real online presence, they are a true indie act and exist in a real punk rock fashion rather than just saying they do. They are worth the effort to search out, if you can find them. ‘Fuckbook’ is not going to win any prizes for musicianship, but, if you want to hear some good times songs played by three guys having a great time for the right reasons, then Condo Fucks may be right up your street.
