intro
Dreamy, gorgeous-sounding indie pop on new single from Sheffield electronic group Kings Have Long Arms with singer Candie Payne on guest vocals
This is pure poptastic and is oh-so-dreamy with keyboards and strings and a gentle but up-tempo beat and beautifully sung lyrics. “As long as I have a big umbrella for me and you” is the chorus and sentiment behind the song. Listening to this tale of love and appreciation of the simpler things, and that special person in your life, the songs seems to make you feel like you are floating around in such a state. The vocals come from young Liverpool based singer Candie Payne whose voice is divine and has a real 60’s feel. This song really wouldn’t be the same were it not for her innocent-sounding swooning voice. It sounds like something that has a summery feel to it, but in the cold and grey start of the year surroundings we are currently in, rather than basking in sun or being moody in the dark, this is one of those tunes that just lifts you right up. I like it but have no idea what people will make of it, I just hope other people are as lifted I was when I first heard it.
