intro

Initially promising, but ultimately flawed political electro pop on second single from new London band Ichinchilla

London's very own super furry animal is the first - correct me if I am wrong - to dedicate a song to 'Red Ken'. This rather modest attack on Mr Congestion Charge - a new interpretation to 'MCC' has just been borne! - comes as the third track on Ichinchilla's second single. A little too eloquent to qualify as bastard pop, the buzzing and beeping of the first two tracks, 'Death Punk Electro' and 'The Ball of Confusion', comes across very much as politico Human League and Ichinchilla do a good job of providing the dancefloor with sinister synths and marching beats. The turning point is 'Red Ken', which could have been scribbled by Scotland's very own super furry socialist MP Tommy Sheridan, accusing Mr Livingstone. Of what, I hear you ask? For being a mayor as it seems. The worry about Ichinchilla's credentials then rises to the occasion as the closing track to this EP is a cover of the Top 40 entry, 'All The Things She Said' from Tatu.

Track Listing:-
1 Death Punk Electro
2 The Ball Of Confusion
3 Red Ken
4 All The Things She Said
