Dublin's foursome of multi-musicians the Immediate boast of a lot, yet for all their diversity and cleverness, their hash of licks borrowed heavily from Beefheart, Orange Juice, Josef K et al leads pretty much nowhere. The Immediate lack the charismatic frontman and singer that bands, performing these moulds of rock, indie or pop from the past, are so much in need of. They're not a hopeless bunch though. Arctic Monkeys get on my nerves a lot harder it must be said.
