Beautiful-sounding new split single from ex-Jesus and Mary Chain star Jim Reid and his sister Linda's band Sister Vanilla

'Song for a Secret' is Jim Reid's first new recorded release in the nearly four years since Freeheat, his follow-up band to the Jesus and Mary Chain, put out their one and only EP, 'Retox'. It is a beautiful love song, immacutely played and sung as a duet between Jim and Julie Barber. They are assisted by Lush and latter day Mary Chain member Phil King and Marc Shearer on guitar and drums respectively. 'Can't Stop the Rock' is the first release of Jim's sister Linda's band Sister Vanilla. It is another beautiful duet, this time sung is by Jim's co-partner in the Jesus and Mary Chain and his and Linda's brother, William. It has a strong guitar groove that avoids being too intense. Both of these tracks are as strong as any Jesus and Mary Chain material if not better.
