intro
Raunchy punk rock single on debut single from London-based outfit, the Mighty Roars
This is a brilliant raunchy punk rock single that has all the trade marks of some of the better bands from the 1977 punk era Guitarist Martin Pilkington plays great sliding rock n roll riffs and this is backed up with powerful bass and drum playing from the band's rhythm team of Dave Pringuer and Mark Spiegel. Their sounds follow in the footsteps of such great acts as Slaughter and the Dogs and Penetration Lara Granquist, the main vocalist and rhythm guitarist, could be compared to any one of a half a dozen gutsy girl singers. I thought about this long and hard, and, if I had to to point to another female singer to indicate who she sounded like, I would probably, after much thought, say Penetration's Pauline Murray which is high praise in itself. This EP has three tracks, 'Captain's Ship', 'Daddy Oh' and 'Funky Machine', all of which are neatly consistent with each other. I hope to hear a lot more of this band soon. Great stuff!!
